Devil Bunny Needs a Ham was the first Mad Ned Production, released in 2004. This was a 16 minute short feature based on the board game by Cheapass Games . The premise, taken from the actual game, involved Sous Chefs who were trying to scale a tall building, and the Devil Bunny, who wanted to knock them off the building, under the possibly mistaken assumption that doing so would help him get a Ham.
The movie version of this game created a plot around the game premise which involved three chefs, Drake, Sanborn, and Dr. Robert Bainbridge. The Devil Bunny and Evelyn Hindbut, a mysterious worker at the US Pork & Ham Council, rounded out the cast. A sixth character, Timmy, had to be cut from the original script because of production concerns.

Drake's riveting hallway chase scene was a performance not rivaled in cinematic history. The raw power of the actors depiction of actual running was superbly mastered in the bobbing and weaving. The cameraman must also be given Kudos for capturing the depth of drama that Drake was striving to relate. A phenomenal scene.
